Third Reading <br /> Public Hearing <br /> Budget Advisory Initialed by: <br /> Department Head <br /> Administration <br /> Council President <br /> Location Preceding Action Attachments Department(s)Approval <br /> Mukilteo Blvd None Proposed Ordinance <br /> Vicinity Map <br /> Amount Budgeted $ 3,000,000 <br /> Expenditure Required $ 3,000,000 Account Number(s): PW3694 <br /> Budget Remaining -0- <br /> Additional Required -0- <br /> DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT: <br /> This project will remove and replace the existing Edgewater Creek Bridge,which was built in 1946 and is a vital link <br /> in a chain of three bridges that provide the only access to neighborhoods along Mukilteo Boulevard. <br /> The existing bridge is a cast-in-place non-redundant two girder composite deck concrete structure that is deficient in <br /> load capacity.In addition,the bridge is seismically and structurally questionable and functionally obsolete due to <br /> narrow substandard traffic lanes and sidewalks. <br /> A Federal Bridge Program grant will provide$2.4 Million of the estimated$3.0 Million budget for the preliminary <br /> engineering and right of way phases of the bridge replacement project. <br /> The budget for preliminary engineering and right of way is$3,000,000 and the sources of funds are: <br /> Federal Grant(Bridge Program) $2,400,000 <br /> Fund 119—Street Improvements 450,000 <br /> Fund 157—Traffic Mitigation 150,000 <br /> Total Funds $3,000,000 <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt an Ordinance creating a special improvement project entitled"Edgewater Creek Bridge Replacement,"Fund <br /> 303,Program 115 to accumulate all costs for the improvement. <br />
