Front Porch and Front Stoops <br /> 1) Where Applicable:The following standards apply to front porch and front stoop building features which <br /> are provided setback exceptions outlined in Section 20.240. <br /> 2) Description:A front porch or front stoop is attached to the facade of a building which is facing a public <br /> street. <br /> a) A front porch includes any porch with a weather protective roof or a deck elevated more than <br /> eighteen (18)inches above grade. In order to be granted a front or side(street)setback exception, <br /> front porches must be no higher than 42 inches above existing grade. <br /> b) A front stoop is steps in front of a house or other building. <br /> 3) Front Porch: <br /> a) A front porch that is within the front or side(street)setback area must be open on three sides with <br /> habitable space behind the setback line. <br /> b) Front porches which encroach into the required setbacks must have a weather protective roof. <br /> 4) Front Stoop: <br /> a) Front stoops must be open on all sides except along an exterior wall to which it is attached. <br /> b) Front stoops shall incorporate weather protection at the building entrance. <br /> c) All entrance doors off stoops must face the street. <br /> 5) Any front porch or front stoop shall meet the standards in Table 20-13 below. <br /> Table 20-13:Front Porch and Front Stoop Standards <br /> Standard Illustration Porch Stoop <br /> Width, minimum A 10 feet 5 feet <br /> Width, maximum A None 8 feet <br /> Depth, minimum B 8 feet 5 feet <br /> Exhibit 2,Chapter 20,Development Standards 26 8/29/18 <br />
