The purpose of the program is to reduce compensation costs and staffing levels as well as to facilitate <br />redeployment, reorganization, and other efforts to make more efficient and effective use of the City's limited <br />resources. <br />Participating employees will be able to choose one of the following options: <br />• Eighteen (18) months of enrollment in the City's self -insured medical plan for the employee plus eligible <br />dependents commencing on the Date of Separation at no cost to the employee; <br />• A one-time severance payment in amount equal to the cost of eighteen (18) months of enrollment in the City's -_ <br />self -insured medical plan (for ^the employee plus eligible en ents apph`ed to iser Permanen e coverage <br />commencing on the Date of Separation; or <br />A one-time severance payment based on the employee's current base salary, exclusive of longevity, out -out - <br />of -class, lead pay differential, call out pay, and overtime, according to the following schedule: <br />Years of Service <br />Severance Payment Amount <br />10 —19 years <br />3 months <br />20 — 29 years <br />4 months <br />3 0 or more years <br />5 months <br />The program will be open to AFSCNIE and appointive employees with at least 10 years of service with the City. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Adopt an Ordinance establishing a separation Incentive Program for eligible City <br />of Everett employees. <br />
