Any employee whose base salary under a previous schedule is 26 greater than the base salary provided in the schedule contained in this ordinance, shall continue to receive the previous base 27 pay; provided, however, that an employee working in a classifi- 28 cation designated to be in a salary range prefaced by range letter "E" shall continue to receive the previous base salary if the Mayor 29 has not set a new salary within the limits of the appropriate new "E" classification range as provided in this ordinance. 30 31 32
