• • <br /> ORDINANCE NO./7477 - 76 <br /> AN ORDINANCE supplementing appropriations of the <br /> budget for the City of Everett for 1976; and amending <br /> Ordinance No. 376-75, as amended by Ordinance <br /> 1 Nos. 387-76, 388-76, 389-76, 400-76, 402-76, and <br /> 408-76, and declaring an emergency to exist. <br /> 2 <br /> 3 WHEREAS, the City Council has now appropriated certain local, State <br /> and Federal funds to augment previously approved programs within the 1976 <br /> 4 budget; and <br /> 5 <br /> WHEREAS, the source and application of funds have been identified; <br /> 6 <br /> 7 NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Everett does ordain that the following <br /> 8 supplements shall be made to the 1976 budget: <br /> Section 1: That the sum of $325,000 be appropriated in the following <br /> 9 <br /> manner: <br /> 10 A. Fund 198 - Community Development Block Grant <br /> 11 1. Program 206 - Home Rehabilitation Loan Program, increase <br /> 1976 budget appropriations - $192.000 <br /> 12 <br /> Original appropriation Ordinance No. 376-75 $ 80,000 <br /> 13 Amended by this appropriation 3.92,000 <br /> 14 New Program Total $272,000 <br /> 15 This is for a program of assistance and loans for housing improvements <br /> in two designated Everett neighborhoods. <br /> 16 <br /> 2. Program 676 - Public Facility Improvements in Rehabilitation <br /> 17 neighborhoods, increase 1976 budget appropriations. <br /> 18 $133,000 <br /> Original appropriation Ordinance No. 376-75 $ <br /> 19 <br /> Amended by this appropriation $133,000 <br /> 20 New Program Total $133,000 <br /> 21 This is for a program for public facility improvements in rehabilitation <br /> 22 neighborhoods. <br /> B. Fund 198 - Community Development Block Grant <br /> 24 Advance $192,000 <br /> 25 Reimbursement $133,000 <br /> $325,000 <br /> 26 <br /> 27 The Community Development Block Grant Program was started on August 22, <br /> 28 1974 when President Ford signed into Law the Housing and Community <br /> Development Act of 1974. The primary objective of the Act is the <br /> 29 <br /> development of viable urban communities <br /> p by providing decent housing <br /> 30 and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, <br /> 31 principally for persons of low and moderate income. <br /> 32 <br />
