#11 <br /> EL/F/?ETT <br /> ORDINANCE No. 3649-18 <br /> AN ORDINANCE relating to Gambling Tax, Amending Ordinance 1023-84, as amended, and <br /> Repealing Ordinances 1201-86 and 2265-98 <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett imposes a tax on the gross proceeds of gambling activities by <br /> Chapter 9.46 RCW, on persons, associations, or organizations that conduct bingo games and <br /> raffles, or that utilize, display, exhibit or possess pull tabs or punch boards with the intent to sell <br /> or that distribute for sale pull tabs or punchboards (persons conducting gambling activity); and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett implements such tax through Chapters 3.36 and 5.108 Everett <br /> Municipal Code (EMC); and <br /> WHEREAS, the maximum tax rate for bingo games, raffles, or the sale of pull tables or <br /> punchboards is five percent (5%); <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the City of Everett's tax rate on the gross proceeds from <br /> bingo games, raffles, or the sale of pull tabs or punchboards should be set at five percent (5%); <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance 1023-84 (EMC 3.36.020), which reads as follows: <br /> Bingo. <br /> There is levied upon and shall be collected from and paid by every person, association or <br /> organization conducting bingo events, a tax in an amount of three and one-half percent of the <br /> gross revenue from bingo games; provided, however, the amount paid out as prizes shall be <br /> deducted from the gross revenue. <br /> Is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Bingo. <br /> There is levied upon and shall be collected from and paid by every person, association or <br /> organization conducting bingo events, a tax in an amount of three and one half five (5) percent <br />
