Proposed Operating Plan for Mount Rainier National Park <br /> 2019 Summer Day Hikes <br /> June 14(Fri.)—Emmons Moraine Trail hike. White River Campground Trailhead. Hike White <br /> River/Glacier Basin Trail to the Emmons Moraine Trail.Take Moraine Trail to its end and return same <br /> way. <br /> July 17 (Wed.)—Spray Park hike. Mowich Lake Trailhead. Hike the Spray Park trail from Mowich Lake to <br /> the trail high point at 6400 feet. Return same way. <br /> July 30(Tue.)—Burroughs Mountain.Sunrise Trailhead. Hike the Sourdough Ridge Trail to Frozen Lake, <br /> continue on Burroughs Mountain Trail to First and Second Burroughs. Return same way. <br /> August 8(Thu.)—Naches Peak Loop.Tipsoo Lake Trailhead below Chinook Pass. Hike the loop trail in a <br /> clockwise direction. <br /> August 20(Tue.)—Mazama Ridge Trail. Reflection Lakes Trailhead. Hike the trail toward Faraway Rock <br /> and continue along Mazama Ridge to near Sluiskin Falls(6000' elevation). Return same way. <br /> September 14(Sat.)—Palisade Lakes. Sunrise Point Trailhead. Hike Pal Lakes trail out as far as Upper <br /> Palisades Lake and return same way. <br /> October 19(Sat.)PREFERRED DATE or September 29(Sun.) (if it must be before 10/1)—Eastside Trail. <br /> Begin at small trailhead on Hwy 123 near Deer Creek Falls (BM3232 on USGS map). Hike down to <br /> Eastside Trail, follow south. Prefer to hike one way to Stevens Canyon entrance, but can turn around at <br /> Ohanapecosh River foot bridge if desired. <br /> NOTES THAT APPLY TO ALL DAY HIKES: <br /> - Trips will be timed for early morning arrivals at trailheads (before 9am) to try to "beat the <br /> crowds" as much as possible. Note that most trips in high summer season will be on weekdays, <br /> not weekends. <br /> - We will park one vehicle and one vehicle only at trailheads. <br />
