The application was eigned by S[anley
Wetael, acting ae the authorized agent. '
The building official, Larry Callahan, wae informed that this use would , ,
provide counseling and other medical aervicea. '
..
+ x
The City isaued a building permit on May 31, 1983 to George Gullerman, acting o m
ae authorized agen[. m
- c
Complaint Letter '''
On December 5, 1983, Mr. John Millenaar submitted a letter charging the =
folloving: (See Attachment 1) ^'
,o z
1. That the r.euae of the baeement of the Minor-Jones Building by a _
medical uae does not meet the parking reqvirementa of the zoning ..

code. In addition, compliance with the "Barrier Free Design Criteria" T N
of State and local codea is questioned. `
—)r
SrBtue of the Mi.nor-Jonea Building
The building vae covstructed in 1965 with 7779 square feet of floor area on 2
floore, plus a basement. There were 15 on-site parking spacea provided, along =
vith 5 apaces on the adjacent parcel. Upon inspection of the eite, I found 15
z
parking epaces on-aite, but could not locate the 5 adjacent parking spaces.
However, conversation with Mr. Thomas Tuohy (occupant of the is[ floor) _
diaclosed that tenante of the building are required by the lease agreemen[ to `^
secure off-aite parking for their employees ae problems of conPestion develop o
with the exieting spaces. Additionally I wae informed that the un-aite apaces "
are primarily for cliente and cuetomere. m
The parking requiremente for professional office use in 1965 required.l apace
per 400 square feet of floor area, which results in 19 spaces.
It is the staff's in[erpretation and opinion [hat [he prioritizing of [he
exieting 15 on-ei[e epacee for clienta and the lease agreement far securing
off-aite employee parking reaults in the existing Minor-Jones Building and
current uses ae being in compliance with the zoning code parking requiremente. -
The current parking requirements for profeseional office are 3 plus 1 for 400
sq. ft. This would result in 22 apacea required.
