DEFINITIONS AND STANDARDS <br /> 010900 - 7 <br /> U.L. Underwriters Laboratories <br /> 5.6. Indoor Air Quality: The contractor shall assure that acceptable indoor air quality <br /> is achieved and minimum pollutant emission rate standards are met within the <br /> building prior to Substantial Completion. The emission standards are defined as <br /> those "emission rates" of pollutants emitting from any product, or group of <br /> products within a room, will not produce building air concentrations greater than: <br /> the recommended upper-limit indoor air quality criteria for contaminants per the <br /> following table: <br /> Carbon dioxide 1,000 parts per million <br /> Carbon monoxide 5 parts per million <br /> Respirable suspended particulate(PM lo) 50 micrograms per cubic meter <br /> Volatile organic compounds 300 micrograms per cubic meter <br /> Formaldehyde 0.1 parts per million <br /> 6. GOVERNING REGULATIONS/AUTHORITIES <br /> 6.1. General: The procedure followed by the Architect/Engineer has been to contact <br /> governing authorities where necessary to obtain information needed for the <br /> purpose of preparing contract documents; recognizing that such information may <br /> or may not be of significance in relation to the Contractor's responsibilities for <br /> performing the Work. Contact governing authorities directly for necessary <br /> information and decisions having a bearing on performance of the Work. <br /> 6.2. Governing Codes: All references to codes referred to in the Specifications <br /> Sections and on the Drawings shall mean, and are intended to be, the latest <br /> edition,Amendment and/or revision of such reference standard in effect as of the <br /> date of these Contract Documents. <br /> 1. Apply provisions to work of this contract in addition to information in <br /> drawings and specifications. <br /> 2. Governing Codes include but are not limited to the following: <br /> International Building Code <br /> Uniform Plumbing Code <br /> Uniform Mechanical Code <br /> National Electrical Code <br /> Uniform Fire Code <br /> Applicable Local Codes and Ordinances <br /> 6.3. Trade Union Jurisdictions: The Contractor shall maintain, and shall require prime <br /> subcontractors to maintain, complete current information and pending actions, as <br /> applicable to the Work. Discuss new developments at appropriate project <br /> meetings at the earliest feasible dates. Record information of relevance along <br /> with the actions agreed upon. The manner in which contract documents have been <br /> organized and subdivided is not intended to be an indication of jurisdictional or <br /> trade union agreements. Assign and subcontract the work, and employ tradesmen <br /> and laborers, in a manner which will not unduly risk jurisdictional disputes of a <br /> 02/19/13 <br />
