f'W V60
GEIIDESIGN FIELD REP of4)
Project Name: Everett River Front-Simpson Report: 071
GeoDesign#: Polygon-127-03 Date: 08/18/2017
Reports with Unresolved Nonconformance Issues: Permit:
PW1505-005
Nick Abdelnour(Polygon) Randy Allen(City of Everett) Weather: Clear, 70's
Ron Bowen(Polygon) Eddy Stevens(Polygon) Arrival/Departure: 1515/1600
Distribution:
Doug Ross(Polygon) Kirk Keck(City of Everett)
Paul McKee(City of Everett) Dave Foster(City of Everett) Prepared By: Ben Weinberg, EIT
m Site Plan(s) m Density Test Summary Signature: a
Attachments: ❑ Installation Records El Other
Reviewed By: RL
PURPOSE of VISIT: GeoDesign representative, Ben Weinberg, was on-site part time at the request of Leroy with BDZ to
observe foundation subgrade for Lots 230, 274, and 275.
SUMMARY of OBSERVATIONS:
LOT 230:
Today, GeoDesign noted that DDS had completed excavation of the foundation and crawl space area for Lot 230. The
exposed foundation subgrade material consisted of a gray-brown silty SAND (f-m)with gravel (f-c)which could generally be
probed less than 2 inches using a 1/2 inch diameter soil probe. Relative compaction of the exposed foundation subgrade
material was tested using a Troxler Moisture-Density gauge; in-place density tests indicated that the material had been
compacted to greater than 95% of its maximum dry density as determined by a Modified Proctor analysis.
It is the opinion of GeoDesign that the foundation subgrade observed today is currently suitable for support of the intended
structure. GeoDesign recommends that any loose and saturated material be removed from the base of the foundation prior
to the placement of concrete.
LOT 274:
Today, GeoDesign noted that DDS had completed excavation of the footing and crawl space area for Lot 274. Previously,
GeoDesign observed the removal of unsuitable fill material from 8-10 feet below bottom of plan footing within the building
area and replacement with structural fill material. Today, GeoDesign noted that exposed foundation subgrade material
consisted of a gray-brown silty SAND with gravel which could generally be probed less than 1 inch using a 1/2 inch
diameter soil probe.
It is the opinion of GeoDesign that the exposed foundation subgrade observed today is currently suitable for support of the
intended structure. GeoDesign recommends that any surficially loose and/or saturated material be removed from the base
of the foundation area prior to the placement of concrete.
LOT 275:
Today, GeoDesign noted that DDS had completed excavation of the footing and crawl space area for Lot 275. Previously,
GeoDesign observed the removal of unsuitable fill material from 8-10 feet below bottom of plan footing within the building
area and replacement with structural fill material.
