1 7 <br /> EXHIBIT Al <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES <br /> City of Everett <br /> Replacement of Reservoir 2 <br /> Work Order #UP3658 <br /> PHASE 2 a FINAL DESIGN AND BIDDING <br /> Background <br /> Murraysmith, Inc. (Murraysmith) has developed the followingscope of services and accompanying <br /> fee estimate to provide engineering services for final design and bidding of the Replacement of <br /> Reservoir 2 project. The scope and fee have been developed based on discussions, with City of <br /> Everett (City)staff and our understanding of the project. <br /> Project Approach <br /> The engineering services to be provided by Murraysmith will be accomplished using a phased <br /> approach, as follows: <br /> • Phase 1=Preliminary Design (completed) <br /> • Phase 2—Final Design and Bidding(this scope of work) <br /> • Phase 3—Construction Support Services (future scope of work) <br /> Based on this approach,the scope of services and fee estimate for the Phase 2 work program are <br /> detailed herein. The well-defined set of improvements from Phase 1 will be used as the basis for <br /> the final design work program under Phase 2. <br /> Project Understanding and Assumptions <br /> A brief overview of the major proposed improvements is presented below: <br /> • 5.0 MG of storage in two 2.5 MG AWWA D110 Type 1 prestressed concrete reservoirs <br /> • 1,400 square foot storage building <br /> • Two parallel 24-inch diameter water mains between Reservoir 2 and Reservoir 1 <br /> • New valving to connect Transmission Lines 2, 3 and 4 <br /> • Demolition of the existing 10 MG open concrete Reservoir 2 and Valve House 2. <br /> • The final design will be based on the 30% preliminary design plans prepared during Phase <br /> 1 of the project. <br /> City of Everett MUR 24'aMITH Replacement of Reservoir 2 <br /> NnvamhPr 7q 7n1R Final rincian Dnao9 <br />
