City ofEverett 00 6800 - 1 <br /> Evergreen Branch Library Expansion 2017-008 <br /> SECTION 00 6800 -APPRENTICE UTILIZATION AND REPORTING <br /> 1. GENERAL <br /> 1.1. The Contractor shall use good faith efforts to utilize apprentices registered with the <br /> Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council ("SAC"), for fifteen percent (15%) <br /> of the total contract labor hours utilized on the Project. <br /> 1.2 The Contractor shall make good faith efforts to: <br /> I <br /> 1.2.1 Equally distribute the apprentice hours worked among each trade/craft and <br /> consistent with the apprentice utilization percentage requirement set forth herein. <br /> 1 <br /> 1.2.2 Use reasonable and practicable means to recruit and hire apprentices to achieve <br /> 1 the apprentice utilization goal. <br /> ' 1.2.3 Use reasonable and practicable means to recruit and hire minority and women <br /> apprentices for the Project. <br /> 1.2.4 Comply with the apprenticeship training standards for each trade/craft <br /> classification used on the Project, as set forth by the Washington State <br /> Department of Labor and Industries. <br /> 1.3 It is normally expected that an apprentice will begin training on the Project as soon as <br /> feasible after start of work, utilizing the skill involved and remain on the Project as long <br /> ' as training opportunities exist in the work classification or until the completion of the <br /> training program. It is not required that all apprentices be retained for the entire length of <br /> the Contract. <br /> 2. CALCULATION OF LABOR HOURS AND GOALS <br /> 2.1 Total contract labor hours include additional hours worked as a result of change orders. <br /> 2.2 Total contract labor hours exclude hours worked by foremen, superintendents, <br /> supervisors, owners, and workers who are not subject to prevailing wage requirements. <br /> t 2.3 Total contract labor hours shall include the hours worked by supervisors, foremen, and <br /> superintendents if they are subject to prevailing wage requirements pursuant to the <br /> following criteria of WAC 296-127-015: <br /> 1 2.3.1 For each hour spent in the performance of manual or physical labor if it is for <br /> more than twenty percent but less than fifty percent of their hours worked on a <br /> public works project during any given week. <br /> 00 6800 - 1 APPRENTICE UTILIZATION AND REPORTING <br />
