Upon further discussion with Public Works we have determined that no additional sidewalk
improvements would be required at this time.Should any portion of the sidewalk become damaged as part of this
project, the damaged portion would need to be repaired in kind as is standard practice. While we tend to encourage
wider sidewalks,we do not currently have a standard width requirement in this area;any proposed action to widen the
sidewalk would
be considered voluntary
at this time.
For future reference, zoning code amendments are expected to be formally proposed for the downtown Everett area,
including this site, within the next year. These potential amendments to the code may include additional sidewalk
standards and/or other design elements to which future proposals or modifications for this site may be subject to.
Ample notice will of course be provided for public input and review of the proposed changes prior to adoption.
Thank you for your patience as we looked into this further. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'm happy
to be of assistance.
Thanks,
Kelsey
From: Kelsey Heyd
Sent: Friday, January 05, 2018 4:15 PM
To: 'Chad Hamilton'; John Day
Subject: RE: 2106 Everett Ave -Jack In The Box Remodel
Hi Chad,
I'm the planner reviewing the project. In regards to the requirement in question, since it's involving the public ROW I
need direction and input from Public Works as to how to proceed. I saw this message shortly before stepping out of the
office for some meetings so I reminded my PW contact that I need an answer ASAP. I just got back in the office so if he
hasn't left for the day, I'll see if he has an answer and if not I'll follow up first thing on Monday.
Kelsey
1
