Planning staff cannot approve the signs as <br /> proposed. <br /> The existing freestanding sign is not in conformance with the size and height requirements of the above-referenced code <br /> sections.As such, it is subject to the "Removal of nonconforming signs" requirements identified in EMC 19.36.200. <br /> 19.36.200.A.1 requires for each new sign requiring a sign permit that's installed, one nonconforming sign must be <br /> removed. Refacing the nonconforming sign in accordance with the requirements of 19.36.200.A.5 is permitted (and does <br /> not require a permit) however the proposed signage (N2-5) as indicated in your submittal would trigger removal and <br /> conformance of the nonconforming freestanding sign. <br /> If you choose to proceed with a sign permit at this location, please revise your submittal such that it meets the E-1MUO <br /> and Sign chapter requirements linked above.Alternatively, if you choose to withdraw the sign permit at this time please <br /> contact the Permit Techs for assistance at 425.257.8810,option 8. <br /> Note: these requirements are only in relation to the zoning code and do not account for all possible requirements from <br /> other departments.
