Please <br /> note that an NFPA 13 (UBC Standard 9-1) sprinkler system could be utilized for fire- <br /> resistive substitution per Section 508. <br /> 2) If a UBC 9-1 sprinkler system is not utilized for fire-resistive substitution: <br /> i) The plans should include details for envelope protection for (any) recessed lighting. <br /> Section 710.3 <br /> ii) Ceiling radiation dampers would be required for all duct or exhaust fan penetrations <br /> of the fire-resistive ceiling assembly. Section 713.11 <br /> iii) Listed assemblies must protect the openings for attic access — the ladders should be <br /> revised to hatches, as the attic is not designed for storage.
