Details <br /> and listings should be shown on the plans. Section 302.2 <br /> iv) Doors through the occupancy separations should be shown as minimum 60-minute <br /> listed assemblies. Section 302.3 <br /> 4) The overhang of the parking area at the East end of the building constitutes floor area. The <br /> floor/ceiling assembly at this area should also be constructed as a one-hour horizontal <br /> occupancy separation. Section 302.1 & 207 <br /> 5) The framing members supporting the eastern cantilever (5 1/4 x 24" & 5 1/4 x 14" PSL's) <br /> should be shown individually protected for a minimum of one-hour fire-resistance. If a size <br /> equivalency is sought, the calculations from UBC Standard 7-1 must be provided. Sections <br /> 703.2 &704.6.2 <br /> 6) A detail and listing should be provided for the one-hour wall assemblies separating dwelling <br /> units. Section 310.2.2 <br /> 7) A window schedule should be provided in order to verify the sleeping room emergency <br /> egress opening requirements of Section 310.4 <br /> 8) The ground floor plans should show smoke detectors. Section 310.9.1.4 <br /> 9) It should be verified that the 3042 single hung bedroom windows shown on plans meet the <br /> opening requirements of Section 310.3 for openable height and area. <br /> Construction <br /> 1) As a V 1-Hr building, details and listings should be provided for the one-hour fire-resistive <br /> floor/ceiling, roof/ceiling, exterior wall and interior (bearing) partition assemblies. Please <br /> note that an NFPA 13 (UBC Standard 9-1) sprinkler system could be utilized for fire- <br /> resistive substitution per Section 508. <br /> 2) If a UBC 9-1 sprinkler system is not utilized for fire-resistive substitution: <br /> i) The plans should include details for envelope protection for (any) recessed lighting. <br /> Section 710.3 <br /> ii) Ceiling radiation dampers would be required for all duct or exhaust fan penetrations <br /> of the fire-resistive ceiling assembly. Section 713.11 <br /> iii) Listed assemblies must protect the openings for attic access — the ladders should be <br /> revised to hatches, as the attic is not designed for storage. Sections 713.11 & 710.1 <br /> 3) The exterior deck guardrails should be shown as a minimum of 42" above the deck surface. <br /> Section 509.2 <br />
