Ted de Budden
From: Ted de Budden
Sent: Tuesday, January 23, 2018 1:36 PM
To: Donald Cunningham
Subject: RE:7007 Beverly Blvd
Hi Don,
As you know we also received a complaint about the unpermitted deck alterations at 7007 Beverly Blvd.
During the course of our inspection it was discovered that an unpermitted apartment or separate dwelling has been
created in the ground floor of the house.
This apartment is complete with a separate kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and living room.
A door including locking hardware has been installed at the base of the stairway to divide the two dwellings.
I conducted a permit search and unable to locate required permits and approvals for the deck and apartment
alterations.
Observations of the deck alterations revealed structurally substandard construction and modifications.
It is likely that other defects related to these alterations will be discovered.
The unpermitted alterations to the building are defined as Unlawful by code. IPMC section 108.1.4
I fully support and encourage enforcement efforts to abate these violations.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide assistance in this matter.
Ted M. de Budden
Chief Inspector
Everett Building Department
425.257 7271
From: Donald Cunningham
Sent: Tuesday,January 23, 2018 12:32 PM
To: Ted de Budden
Subject: 7007 Beverly Blvd
Ted-
As I said on the phone, I inspected the unpermitted deck alteration today and did not know about additional alterations
to the house. Can you reply with a summary of your observations from last week?
Thanks!
Don
Donald Cunningham
Code Enforcement Officer
Everett Police Department
Desk 425 257-8564
1
