When the data is expressed as a percentage of a
control test, this parameter can then be used in estimating the potential
performance of most any Portland Cement concrete containing the same addition
rate of FIBERMESH.
The following comparisons are based on ready-mix concrete which contained
5 sacks of 94 pounds each (42.7 kg) of cement per cubic yard (6.5 sacks per
cubic meter), 3/4" (19 mm) max. aggregate, and a W/C ratio of 0.64. The control
set of specimens were cast first; then 1.5/lbs./cubic yard (890 grams per cubic
meter) of polypropylene fiber was added and mixed for five minutes before the
second set of specimens were made. Concrete slumps were:
Control Concrete = 5-1/2"(140mm)
FIBERMESH Concrete = 4-3/4"(121mm)
Specific variations from the above mix will be noted.
Compressive Strength, psi (N/mm2)
RELATIVE Individual Average Percent
EN G I N E E R I N G DATA 28 DaysControl 0 Ib/yd.3890(27.229) 0
3920(27.439) 3905(27.334) 0
I.
