I cannot see why this proposed
sign would be a problem. In fact I see them at other MJ locations, particularly strip
malls where a M1 store may be buried from direct sight from the street.
I can further direct you to Frank O'Dell frank.odell@lcb.wa.gov who is the Marijuana
Supervisor in Olympia. He may have additional insight.
I hope this helps,
Dee
From: Brian Bodge [mailto:brianbodge@msn.com]
Sent: Wednesday, July 13, 2016 4:58 PM
To: Kelsey Heyd
Cc: Leeberg, Kaitlin (LCB)
Subject: RE: Plan Check No.: S1606-002, 3015 Everett Ave
Hi Kelsey,
Thanks for response.
I believe the WAC 314-55-155 regarding advertising and signage applies to only
the licenses premises. If I only have leasehold rights to the building, and not the
proposed free standing sign or the land upon which the proposed free standing
sign would be installed, then placing a sign for my business upon the proposed
free standing should be compliant with the State LCB requirements. That is to
say, placing another sign upon the proposed free standing sign pole that exceeds
the size and quantity specified in WAC 314-55-155,that is not on the licensed
premises, need only meet the City of Everett's sign requirements. I will confirm
with the LCB to see if my interpretation is consistent with Kaitlin's.
314-55-155
Advertising.
(1)Advertising by retail licensees. The WSLCB limits each retail licensed premises
to a maximum of two separate signs identifying the retail outlet by the licensee's
business name or trade name. Both signs must be affixed to the building or
permanent structure and each sign is limited to sixteen hundred square inches.
314-55-010
Definitions.
(14) "Licensed premises"means all areas of a premises where the licensee has
leasehold rights as listed in the property lease submitted to the board.Any
vehicle assigned for the purposes of transporting marijuana, usable marijuana,
11 '
