DATE: August 17, 1993 <br /> SUBJ: 4018 1/2 Hoyt Ave <br /> Tim Tyler and I inspected this unit on August 11th. After <br /> discussing the problem areas, it was determined that the walkway <br /> on the north of the building would have to be removed. A window <br /> having a 5.7 square foot opening with a minimum height of 24 <br /> inches and a minimum width of 20 inches shall be installed in the <br /> bedroom on the north .side of the building. The sill height of <br /> the window shall not more than 44 inches from the floor. A smoke <br /> detector is required in this bedroom. <br /> The room on the south side of the building used as a bedroom in <br /> • the past shall be used for storage only. There is no window in <br /> this room and one cannot be placed in the room because of the <br /> ' private property adjacent to the south side of the building being <br /> owned by someone other than the owner of 4018 Hoyt. The reasoning <br /> for this is to prevent someone from getting injured by the low <br /> head clearance of the beam running through the center of the unit <br /> as they attempt to escape, in an emergency situation, from the <br /> room on the south side of the unit. <br /> The electrical service for the upper unit of this building is <br /> located within the lower unit. This electrical service shall be <br /> readily accessible by the tenants .of the upper unit on a 24 hour <br /> basis. Accessibility will have to be worked out between the owner <br /> and tenants and the tenants of the two units.
