(41) 16,(0 - <br /> , <br /> '6, <br /> 1 <br /> 2 <br /> 3 <br /> 4 ORDINANCE NO. 3 -77( <br /> 5 AN ORDINANCE establishing a Water Utility Coordinating <br /> Committee. <br /> 6 <br /> 7 WHEREAS, the City of Everett water system serves not only customers <br /> within the City of Everett but also customers outside the City of Everett in <br /> 8 South Snohomish County, including the Alderwood area, Edmonds, Lynnwood, <br /> Mountlake Terrace, Monroe, Mukilteo, Snohomish, and Brier; and <br /> 9 <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett finds that future im- <br /> 10 provements to the Everett water system, such as construction and maintenance <br /> of filtration facilities, will require coordination and cooperation with <br /> 11 other water customers in Snohomish County; <br /> 12 WHEREAS, coordinated planning of service boundaries and other major <br /> facilities can be most effectively achieved by cooperation between all users. <br /> 13 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 14 1. The Water Utility Coordinating Conmiittee for the Everett water <br /> 15 system is hereby established for the purpose of advising the <br /> City Council of the City of Everett regarding the planning, <br /> 16 financing and implementation for future major capital improve- <br /> ments to the Everett water system which affect water service <br /> 17 to regional customers outside the City of Everett, including <br /> but not limited to determination of service areas, location <br /> 18 sizing and other technical input regarding filtration facilities. <br /> 19 2. Said Committee shall consist of one representative from each <br /> of the following agencies and customers of the Everett water <br /> 20 system: <br /> 21 Department of Social and Health Services <br /> Snohomish Health District <br /> 22 Weyerhaeuser Company <br /> Scott Paper Company <br /> 23 Alderwood Water District <br /> City of Edmonds <br /> 24 Mukilteo Water District <br /> City of Lynnwood <br /> 25 City of Mountlake Terrace <br /> Public Utility District #1 of Snohomish <br /> 26 Silver Lake Water District <br /> City of Snohomish <br /> 27 City of Monroe <br /> 28 plus one representative of all other customers. Each representa- <br /> tive may designate alternates to attend meetings and otherwise <br /> 29 serve in his place. Said Committee shall elect its own chairman; <br /> and establish its own rules of procedure, provided that there shall <br /> 30 be an ex-officio representative of the City of Everett Water Dept. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
