n
U
M/C wnsw
July 22, 1998
Gary Cole
Kirtley-Cole Design/Bond
1002 - 10th St
Snohomish WA 98290
RE: Owner. The Everett Clinic
Job Address: 3927 Rucker Avenue
Plan Check N: B-59430
Dear Mr. Cole:
E
In response to your application for a construction permit, your plans have been re-
examined and you are advised that the issuance of a permit is being withheld for the
reasons listed on the attached. These comments address building issues only, additional
revisions or additions may be requited by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or
Fire). All references refer to the 1994 Uniform Building Code, as amended by the State of
Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1995 Edition, unless stated otherwise.
In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to
provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of drawings reflecting the
corrections requested.
1. Meeting Room 1 is an A-3 Occupancy and requires two exits based on occupant load.
Both exits are shown accessed by the existing corridor. The corridor is also then
required to have two exits. Currently, the corridor is shown to stop at door 3001. The
rated corridor should be shown to connect both exit stairs from the floor per Section
1004.2.2.
2. If the intent is that a horizontal exit be located at the doors separating the meeting room
lobby and lobby room 300, then, the following requirements per Section 1005.3.5
should be met:
a) The horizontal exit shall completely divide the floor into two or more separate exit -
access areas.
b) The wall shall be constructed to be equivalent to a two-hour occupancy separation:
i) Walls shall be continuous from exterior wall to exterior wall and shall extend
from the floor to the underside of the floor or roof directly above.
CITY OF EVERETT• 3200 Cedar Street 9 Everett, WA 98201 9 (425) 257-M a Fax (425) 257-M
