If you read the WAC definitions, ambulatory surgery centers are <br />facilities that extend surgical privileges to different physician groups and are <br />probably licensed by the state department of health. The Everett Clinic does not <br />extend its privileges and is not licensed by the Department of Health. It is <br />Medicare certified, but that is beside the point. <br />WAC 296-46-130 ON "Ambulatory surgery center" means a facility, not a <br />part of a hospital, providing surgical t►eatment to patients not requiring <br />inpatient care in a hospital. This term does not include a facility in the <br />offices of private physicians or dentists, whether for individual or group <br />practice, if the privilege of using such facility is not extended to physicians <br />or dentists outside of the individual or group practice. <br />WAC 296-46-130 (3)) 'Medical, dental, and chiropractic clinic" means any <br />clink or physicians office where patients are not regularly kept as bed <br />patients for twenty-four hours or more. <br />By definition, this facility should not be designated as a ambulatory surgery <br />center. The operating rooms in the Gunderson Building are used exclusively by <br />the physicians of The Everett Clinic and no privileges are extended to any other <br />group of doctors. Since the patients In this facility are kept less then twenty-four <br />hours, this facility should be designated as a medical clinic. Electrical plan <br />reviews are not required for medics! clinics. <br />
