The award is to reimburse costs of on-the- water patrols and boating education classes. There is anon-supplantation requirement. A local match of $33,618.54, a portion of Vessel Registration Funds received, is required. The Federal Financial Assistance Grant award and Intergovernmental Agreement with the Commission establishes the framework between the Commission and the EPD for accomplishing the patrols, classes and special emphasis enforcement. The ultimate goals of the activities are to reduce injury from boating incidents and promote a safe and enjoyable boating environment for all users. RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents with the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission regarding agreement, utilization and acceptance of the $16,974.89 Fiscal Year 2019 Marine Patrol Federal Financial Assistance Grant Program. 55
