The award is to reimburse costs of on-the- <br /> water patrols and boating education classes. There is anon-supplantation requirement. A local match of <br /> $33,618.54, a portion of Vessel Registration Funds received, is required. The Federal Financial Assistance <br /> Grant award and Intergovernmental Agreement with the Commission establishes the framework between <br /> the Commission and the EPD for accomplishing the patrols, classes and special emphasis enforcement. <br /> The ultimate goals of the activities are to reduce injury from boating incidents and promote a safe and <br /> enjoyable boating environment for all users. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign all necessary documents with the Washington State Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission regarding agreement, utilization and acceptance of the $16,974.89 Fiscal Year 2019 Marine <br /> Patrol Federal Financial Assistance Grant Program. <br /> 55 <br />
