The intent <br /> of this joint effort is to investigate and apprehend local, state and federal fugitives,thereby improving public <br /> safety and reducing violent crime. The Everett Police Department has participated in this task force since <br /> 2013 would like to continue participating in the task force covering the Western Washington district. This <br /> Memorandum of Understanding sets forth the requirements for the Everett Police Department to continue <br /> participating in the task force and provides an explanation of the resources and funding available to the <br /> department as a result of that participation. Qualified expenses incurred by the Everett Police Department, <br /> including overtime costs,will be eligible for reimbursement by the USMS. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the Memorandum of Understanding with the United States Marshals Service <br /> regarding participation in the Violent Offender Task Force for 2019 and subsequent years. <br /> 99 <br />
