EV E R E T T To: Kimberly Shelton,Assistant Director
CARL GIPSON From: Eric Wollan
SENIOR CENTER
Date: April 2, 2019 Re: PSA for entertainer Doug Rorabackigp
The Carl Gipson Senior Center would like to enter into contract with entertainer Doug
Roraback. Doug is a longtime provider of singing at special events and occasional
lunchtime programs. The seniors benefit from the city providing this service in the
following ways:
Entertainment
• Independent contractors come to the center various times throughout the year to
provide a special day of singing, musical playing, or general performance acts.
• These performances are a special treat and encourage members to attend that
day for lunch and or other activities.
• Offering this type of activity helps members build a social network of friends and
other attendees.
• This also gives stabilization to an ever-changing senior's life, as their health, family
and abilities change and lessen with age and activities. This maintains a constant known
activity, and relaxing time to utilize the benefits of the senior center.
There is no revenue to the city for this program. The direct expenses are projected to be
$1,500.
For additional information please contact Eric Wollan at ext. 7082 or
Ewollan@everettwa.gov
Q3025 Lombard Avenue
Everett,WA 98201
O425.257.8780
425.257.8677 fax
;;; seniorcenter@everettwa.gov
everettwa.gov/seniors
