Title VI Plan-City of Everett Exhibit 1-City of Everett Title VI Notice to the Public The City of Everett hereby gives public notice that it is the City's policy to assure full compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,the Civil Rights Restoration Act of 1987,and related statutes and regulations in all programs and activities. Title VI requires that no person shall, on the grounds of race, color, sex,or national origin be excluded from the participation in,be denied the benefits of,or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any Federal Aid Highway program or other activity for which the City receives Federal financial assistance. Any person who believes they have been aggrieved by an unlawful discriminatory practice under Title VI has a right to file a formal complaint with the City of Everett. Any such complaint must be in writing and filed with the City's Title VI Coordinator within one hundred eighty (180)days following the date of the alleged discriminatory occurrence. Title VI Discrimination Complaint Forms may be obtained from the Human Resources office at no cost to the complainant by calling (425)257-8767. Exhibit 2-City of Everett Title VI Assurances The Agency of the City of Everett in the State of Washington, (hereinafter referred to as the "Recipient"), HEREBY AGREES THAT as a condition to receiving any Federal financial assistance from the U.S. Department of Transportation will comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964,78 Stat. 252, 42 USC 2000d--42 USC 2000d--4 (hereinafter referred to as the Act), and all requirements imposed by or pursuant to Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Department of Transportation, Subtitle A, Office of the Secretary part 21,Nondiscrimination in Federally Assisted Programs of the Department of Transportation-Effectuation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964(hereinafter referred to as the Regulations), and other pertinent directives, to the end that in accordance with the Act,Regulations, and other pertinent directives, no person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, sex,or national origin be excluded from participation in,be denied the benefits of,or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program or activity for which the Recipient receives Federal financial assistance through the Washington State Department of Transportation, including the U.S.Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration, and HEREBY GIVES ASSURANCE THAT it will promptly take any measures necessary to effectuate this agreement. This Assurance is required by Subsection 21.7(a)(1) of the Regulations. 14
