GeoDesign also noted that
the over-excavated area had been lined with a non-woven geotextile material. It is GeoDesign's understanding that the
over-excavated area will be backfilled with 2-4 inch recycled concrete material compacted into a firm and unyielding mass.
GeoDesign notified the subcontractor and client of our observations prior to our departure from the site today.
Lot 143:
Previously, GeoDesign had identified an area in the west 1/3 of Lot 143 which could be probed 6 inches to 1.5 feet using a
1/2 inch diameter soil probe which we recommended be over-excavated down to firm and unyielding material. Today,
GeoDesign noted that the foundation excavation subcontractor had over-excavated the previously identified area down to
material which could be probed less than 2 inches using a 1/2 inch diameter soil probe.
