<br /> The Washington State Traffic Safety Commission is providing funds to Snohomish County law enforcement agencies to
<br /> conduct high visibility enforcement traffic safety emphasis patrols in support of Target Zero Team priorities.
<br /> For the period of October 1,2018,through September 30,2019,the allocation for Everett Police Department's participation
<br /> is$1,800 for impaired driving enforcement,$1,500 for distracted driving enforcement,$3,500 for DUI enforcement,$1,500
<br /> for motorcycle safety enforcement,and$1,800 in flex funding(local DUI,speed,distracted driving, and seat belt patrols).
<br /> Council authorized the Mayor to sign the 2018-2019 Interagency Agreement in October 2018. This re-appropriation carries
<br /> forward the full$10,100 as no funds were spent in 2018.

<br /> The Department of Ecology awarded an$85,000 Spill Prevention, Preparedness,and Response Equipment grant to the
<br /> City of Everett for the purchase of a non-absorbent containment boom and accessories for marine spill response,a vehicle
<br /> to tow a trailer holding the boom and accessories,and training on oil boom deployment to support hazardous materials
<br /> response capabilities.
<br /> Council approved acceptance of this grant at the June 6,2018,Council meeting. The vehicle was purchased in 2018. This
<br /> re-appropriation carries forward the remaining$39,000 to purchase the oil boom and provide the necessary training.
