Previously,
GeoDesign observed the removal of unsuitable fill material up to 8 feet below bottom of plan footing within the building area
and replacement with structural fill material. Today, GeoDesign noted that exposed foundation subgrade material consisted
of a gray-brown silty SAND with gravel which could generally be probed less than 2 inches using a 1/2 inch diameter soil
probe.
It is the opinion of GeoDesign that the exposed foundation subgrade observed today is currently suitable for support of the
intended structure. GeoDesign recommends that any surficially loose and/or saturated material be removed from the base
of the foundation area prior to the placement of concrete.
A summary of our observations can be found in the attached Figure 1.
This report presents opinions formed as a result of our observation of activities relating to geotechnical engineering or environmental services. We rely on the contractor to comply with the plans and
specifications throughout the duration of the project irrespective of the presence of our representative. Our work does not indude supervision or direction of the contractor, the contractor's employees
or agents.
