Provide sufficient land area of varying <br /> land use intensities to accommodate a population <br /> A. Provide for the orderly accommodation of area and land use densities to accommodate by <br /> growth within the Everett Planning Area; 2012 the addition of 18,000 persons above the <br /> 1994 population of approximately 78,000 within <br /> 1.2. Provide sufficient land and appropriate land the current city limits (approximate 2012 <br /> use classifications to allow the community to grow population = 96,000), and an overall population <br /> in a desirable manner; level of 150,000 for the entire Everett Planning <br /> 1.3. Establish written policies to be used for Area. <br /> guiding the intensity, quality, location and timing <br /> of development in the future; 1.12. ECONOMIC GROWTH OBJECTIVE. <br /> The Land Use Element of the Everett <br /> 1.4. Adopt a Land Use Map generally desig- Comprehensive Plan shall provide adequate land <br /> nating the location, extent and intensity of land area and land use intensities within the current <br /> uses throughout the community; city limits to accommodate the addition of 44,000 <br /> 1.5. Serve as a guide to the private sector and to additional jobs by 2012 above the 1990 level of <br /> government agencies concerning property invest- approximately 68,265 (approximate 2012 <br /> meets, future land use patterns, and the need for employment = 112,000). The Land Use Element <br /> public facilities and services within the Everett shall provide adequate land area and land use <br /> Planning Area; intensities within the Everett Planning Area to <br /> accommodate an overall employment level of <br /> 1.6. Establish land use patterns that encourage 128 000. <br /> the efficient utilization of land, energy resources, <br /> transportation facilities, public infrastructure, and 1.13 The City of Everett will participate in the <br /> the economic provision of public services, and Population and Employment Reconciliation and <br /> which further the goals of the other elements of the Monitoring Process with Snohomish County <br /> comprehensive plan; Tomorrow, other cities in Snohomish County, and <br /> 1.7. Reinforce, maintain and enhance the Snohomish County. It is recognized that not all <br /> desirable qualities of Everett's neighborhoods; comprehensive plans will be adopted at the same <br /> time, so there is the need to review and monitor the <br /> 1.8. Improve the stability, value, and physical comprehensive plan holding capacities over time <br /> appearance of blighted areas; and and, at least initially, on an annual basis. The <br /> purpose of the process will be to adjust the <br /> 1.9. Provide a set of guidelines to be used in the population and employment PSRC targets based <br /> development of ordinances, projects and action upon adopted local plan preferences. <br /> programs which promote the long term stability <br /> and best interests of the Everett community. <br /> LU-18 <br />
