CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> Spills shall be cleaned up immediately. Failure to clean streets or spills as required will <br /> result in City procuring street cleaning services. or cleaning streets themselves at City <br /> overtime rates. Either way, Contractor shall be responsible for reimbursing the City for cost <br /> incurred. If Contractor fails to promptly reimburse City then City will deduct cost, plus <br /> interest on unpaid balance, from Contractor's final payment. <br /> 2-08.2 Vacant <br /> 2-08.3 Construction Requirements <br /> Provide self-propelled vacuum-type pickup sweepers equipped with water spray systems <br /> for dust control for pavement cleaning and debris removal as required. Additional <br /> supplementary water to suppress dust during sweeping shall be applied with a water truck <br /> when necessary unless otherwise directed by the City Inspector. <br /> The type and number of sweepers are subject to the approval of the Engineer. <br /> Plan construction operation to minimize the need for street cleaning. <br /> 2-08.4 Measurement <br /> Bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be measured as <br /> described in Division B — Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and Section 1- <br /> 09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 2-08.5 Payment <br /> Payment for bid items of Work completed pursuant to the Contract Documents will be as <br /> described in Division B — Bid Item Descriptions of these Special Provisions and Section 1- <br /> 09 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT of the Standard Specifications. <br /> 2-09 STRUCTURE EXCAVATION ' <br /> 2-09.2 Materials <br /> Supplement 2-09.2 by adding the following at end of the materials list: <br /> Foundation Material Class A or B 9-03.17 Standard Specifications <br /> 2-09.3 Construction Requirements <br /> 2-09.3(1) General Requirements <br /> 2-09.3(1)C Removal of Unstable Base Material <br /> Delete all paragraphs in 2-09.3(1)C and substitute the following: <br /> When the material at the bottom of an excavation is not stable enough to I <br /> support the Structure, the Contractor shall excavate below grade to the depth <br /> required by the Engineer and replace the unstable material with Foundation <br /> Material Class A or B. <br /> Place Foundation Material Class A or B in layers not more than six inches <br /> thick and compact to minimum of 90-percent maximum density as determined <br /> by 2-03.3(14)D. <br /> Dispose of unsuitable material removed to make room for foundation material <br /> by hauling to a waste site obtained and provided by the Contractor in <br /> accordance with 2-03.3(7)C. <br /> 2-09.3(1)DD Disposal of Excavated Material <br /> Delete the second paragraph in 2-09.3(1)D and substitute the following: <br /> All costs for disposing of excavated material, whether within the Project limits <br /> or hauled to a disposal site. shall be incidental to the other Bid items in the <br /> Proposal. The City will not pay for hauling. Disposal of excavated material <br /> shall meet the requirements of 2-03.3(7)C.
