This was not a requirement <br /> for the previous cccupancy type (R-3 dwelling). but the change of use requires that <br /> the structure be brought into compliance with current codes. The following <br /> comments then apply: <br /> a) A complete separation should be provided at the ceiling and wall assemblies <br /> between the basement and first story.
