"Stream,Type F." means those streams defined in WAC 122-16-030,Water Typing System as Type F <br /> Water. <br /> "Stream,Type Np." means those streams defined in WAC 122-16-030,Water Typing System as Type Np <br /> Water. <br /> "Stream,Type Ns." means those streams defined in WAC 122-16-030,Water Typing System as Type Ns <br /> Water. <br /> "Stream,Type S." means those streams defined in WAC 122-16-030,Water Typing System as Type S <br /> Water. <br /> "Swamp" means an area permanently saturated or inundated by water,and occupied predominantly by <br /> either a scrub-shrub or forested wetland vegetation community. <br /> "Swamp" means an area permanently saturated or inundated by water,and occupied predominantly by <br /> either a scrub-shrub or forested wetland vegetation community. <br /> "Unavoidable and necessary impacts" means impacts to regulated critical areas after the applicant <br /> proposing to alter a regulated critical area has demonstrated that no reasonable alternative exists for <br /> the proposed protect. <br /> "Undevelopable area" means: <br /> 1. Regulated wetlands; <br /> 2. Geologically hazardous areas which are determined by supporting studies to be unsuitable for <br /> development; <br /> 3. Streams; <br /> 4. Habitats of primary association; <br /> 5. Plant associations of infrequent occurrence. <br /> "Undisturbed, relatively" is defined in question H2.0 of the 2014 Washington State Wetland Rating <br /> System for Western Washington <br /> "Unstable soils" means soils which by their physical nature are not suitable to support buildings, roads, <br /> utilities or other manmade development related improvements,or which have the potential for slope <br /> failure,erosion,or subsidence. Unstable soils include, but are not limited to,those areas defined as <br /> landslide hazard areas, erosion hazard areas, and seismic hazard areas,or other soils which have been <br /> determined by the public works director or the building official to be unsuitable for building foundations <br /> or structural support. <br /> "Upper bank" means that portion of the topographic cross-section of a stream which extends from the <br /> break in the general slope of the surrounding land to the ordinary high water mark. <br /> "Wetlands" means those areas that are inundated or saturated by surface or ground water at a <br /> frequency and duration sufficient to support,and under normal circumstances do support,a prevalence <br /> of vegetation adapted for life in saturated soil conditions.
