Exposed fire walls visible from a street or open space shall <br /> have material, color, and/or textural changes as approved by the city to add visual <br /> interest to the wall. <br /> g. Rooftop Mechanical Equipment. (See provisions on screening of rooftop <br /> appurtenances above.) <br /> D6. Nonresidential Uses. <br /> a. Storefront Details. Ground floor facades must include distinctive elements that add <br /> visual interest to the storefront. Set forth below is a list of examples from which such <br /> elements may be selected. Standard corporate logos or architectural elements will not <br /> qualify. <br /> (1) Unique or handcrafted pedestrian-oriented signage. <br /> (2) Artwork incorporated on the facade. <br /> (3) Distinctive treatment of windows and/or door(s). <br /> (4) Permanent weather protection element such as a glass and/or steel canopy. <br /> (5) Distinctive exterior light fixtures. <br /> (6) Unique or handcrafted planter boxes or other architectural features that are <br /> intended to incorporate landscaping. <br /> (7) Distinctive facade kickplate treatment including the use of stone, marble, tile or <br /> other material that provides special visual interest. <br /> (8) Other details as approved by the city that add visual interest to the storefronts. <br /> F - 5 <br />
