Site Observations: Upon arrival, ESNW rep observed the contractor drilling tie-back pilot holes along the whaler of the previously installed shoring wall. Each pilot hole was centered between the previously installed soldier piles (6' between each pilot hole). ESNW rep then observed the contractor install three 9'10"X1" (Length x Diameter)tie-backs at a 20° angle from perpendicular to the vertical wall. Each tie-back was observed to be imbedded approximately 9' into the previous backfill and native soils east of the wall face. Each tie- back was then grouted.Though grout was observed seeping out of localized areas of lagging below each tie-back, ESNW rep observed each tie-back to be securely and properly installed per approved!onsite. plans. Please see image and map below. Tie-back lengths and diameters were installed as designed. Tie-back embedment was observed to be appropriate at each listed element location. The table below lists the elements that were installed during the course of the site visit. ESNW rep observed the west facing slope and associated excavations observed to be stable in the current condition and configuration and suitable for work to be conducted along the excavation. It is the responsibility of the contractor to perform all necessary safety measure in accordance with state and federal regulations.
