Each pilot hole was centered between the previously installed soldier <br /> piles (6' between each pilot hole). ESNW rep then observed the contractor install three 9'10"X1" (Length <br /> x Diameter)tie-backs at a 20° angle from perpendicular to the vertical wall. Each tie-back was observed to <br /> be imbedded approximately 9' into the previous backfill and native soils east of the wall face. Each tie- <br /> back was then grouted.Though grout was observed seeping out of localized areas of lagging below each <br /> tie-back, ESNW rep observed each tie-back to be securely and properly installed per approved!onsite. <br /> plans. Please see image and map below. <br /> Tie-back lengths and diameters were installed as designed. Tie-back embedment was observed to be <br /> appropriate at each listed element location. ESNW rep observed the west <br /> facing slope and associated excavations observed to be stable in the current condition and configuration <br /> and suitable for work to be conducted along the excavation. It is the responsibility of the contractor to <br /> perform all necessary safety measure in accordance with state and federal regulations. <br /> ESNW rep was informed, by the contractor, that tie-back,installation would continue tomorrow,; <br /> 12/06/2018.
