Exhibit A Scope of Services
Larimer Road Stabilization -6700 and 8400
3. Drill one boring at each location to a depth of about 40 to 50 feet through the roadway
embankment and into the underlying native soils. Install groundwater monitoring wells if
deemed appropriate during drilling.
We will complete the one-call to locate utilities within the right-of-way. Known utilities in
the area include a 30-inch diameter force main,8-inch diameter water main, and overhead
power and cable. Traffic control will be provided by the City.
4. Perform laboratory tests on representative samples of the soils, including tests for
moisture content, particle size distribution, and Atterberg Limits, if appropriate.
5. Complete stability analyses of the existing condition at both locations using the computer
program SLOPE/W. Use the program to develop repair alternatives to increase the stability
to acceptable standards. A factor of safety of 1.3 or greater is an accepted standard for
normal repair of landslides. A higher factor of safety of 1.5 is occasionally required for
critical cases.
6. Develop alternative repair sketches and complete slope stability analyses to refine the
configuration of the alternatives to obtain adequate factors of safety.
7. Prepare a report summarizing our field exploration, stability analyses, and slope
stabilization alternatives. Provide a draft report for City review and incorporate review
comments into the final report.
8. Attend one meeting to discuss the results and evaluate next steps for the project.
GeoEngineers File 0661-119-00 Page 2
