•
cMl&structural
ENGINEERING
engineering&planning
STRUCTURAL OBSERVATION REPORT
Project:Scriven Residence Drainage Purpose: Final Observation Letter
Location: 1901 W Mukilteo Blvd., Everett,WA Date: January 29,2018
CG Project: 17041.20/Permit No.:PW1701-020 Report: 1
Client:Richard and Suzanne Scriven General Contractor:Lockhart Suver,LLC
Field Rep: Greg Guillen,PE,SE
As requested by Lockhart Suver,a field representative from CG Engineering was on site on January 9,2018 with the
general contractor's representative to review the completed construction of a drainage improvement project at the
above referenced address. This field observation was to review the construction from a civil engineering
perspective.
The existing downspout drain pipes around the home were tied into the new catch basin that is anchored to the
north end of the home.A 6"diameter HDPE pipe is then tied into the catch basin and passes through an existing
solider pile wall at the north end of the property. The pipe then runs down a slope at the north end and is anchored
at specified points along the slope. At the bottom of the slope, the HDPE pipe is tied into a diffuser"T"that rests on
a gravel bed near the railroad ditch.
During construction a minor modification was implemented to the construction drawings for convenience to the
contractor. The original plan showed the catch basin located near the northwestern side of the house with the
HDPE pipe running downslope to the drain diffuser"T".The catch basin was moved to the northeastern side of the
house with the HDPE pipe and diffuser"T"shifted east. All existing drain pipes were observed to tie in properly to
the catch basin at the new location. This change was observed to not affect the drainage plan of the site.
OBSERVATIONS&RECOMMENDATIONS
The drainage system was constructed in a professional manner and appears to be functioning correctly. The HDPE
pipe is tied in correctly and anchored to the slope at the specified points. The diffuser"T"was anchored in the correct
location and built per plan. The contractor received an email from the railroad accepting the installation as
constructed.
t GUz
4• ug WAsg 1
11
IL .14
01/25/2018
DISCLAIMER
This observation is the professional opinion of CG Engineering PLLC based on the information available during this assessment or evaluation.
This report does not warrant or guarantee that all conditions were discovered at the time of the observation. This report was prepared subject
to the standard of care applicable to professional services at the time the services were provided.
250 4th Avenue South,Suite 200
Edmonds,WA 98020
ph.425.778.8500 I f.425.778.5536
www.cgengineering.com
