ORDINANCE NO. 6%-7 <br /> 1 AN ORDINANCE authorizing the Finance and Budget Director to issue <br /> alley service parking permits and adding a new section to <br /> 2 Ordinance No. 123-71 (E .M.0 . Chapter 46.61) . <br /> 3 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 4 Section 1: That a following new section be added to Ordinance No. <br /> 5 <br /> 123-71 (E .M.C. Chapter 46.61) . <br /> 6 <br /> "Alley service parking permit. The Finance and Budget Director <br /> 7 is authorized to issue a permit for 'alley service parking,' which <br /> term means the unobstructing parking in alleys by vehicles used <br /> 8 primarily for mobile providing of service to customers or used <br /> 9 in rendering a service in cleaning, painting, adjusting or <br /> making minor repairs or replacements in or to building equipment <br /> 10 or public utilities in the vicinity of the alley upon the following <br /> conditions: <br /> 11 <br /> A. Application shall be made to the Finance and Budget <br /> 12 Director on a form provided by the Finance and Budget <br /> Director. The applicant shall set forth the applicant's <br /> 13 business and the necessity for such permit and the <br /> 14 location at which the vehicle bearing the permit needs <br /> to park. The Finance and Budget Director shall investigate <br /> 15 such facts: <br /> 16 B. If it appears that a necessity exists and that the parking of the <br /> service vehicle will not endanger or likely to endanger <br /> 17 potential users of the alley, the Finance and Budget Director may <br /> authorize the issuance of such permit forthe location specified <br /> 18 in the application upon payment of the fees and other conditions <br /> 19 hereinafter described. (Each vehicle, parked pursuant to this <br /> provision shall have a sign on the side thereof or in the vehicle's <br /> 20 window in lettering not less than two inches in height designating <br /> the owner, operator or business of the permittee) . <br /> 21 <br /> C . The Finance and Budget Director may revoke any alley <br /> 22 service parking permit if the permit is used for any purpose <br /> other than that authorized herein or if the vehicle authorized <br /> 23 to display such permit obstructs the alley or parks in a manner <br /> 24 to endanger or likely to endanger potential users of the alley. <br /> 25 D. Any such permit issued hereunder shall, unless revoked, <br /> be valid for a period of one year from January first or any <br /> 26 portion of the year from the date of issuance to the following <br /> December thirty-first; <br /> 27 <br /> 28 <br /> E . The fee for a permit shall be ten dollars ($10. 00) per <br /> vehicle; provided, however, the fees for one person, <br /> 29 organization or corporation shall not exceed one hundred <br /> dollars ($100.00) ." <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
