i a <br /> ' <br /> 1 <br /> ORDIANANCE NO. <br /> 2 - ' <br /> 3 AN ORDINANCE establishing an "Everett Civic <br /> 4 Arts Commission" and declaring an emergency <br /> 5 to exist. <br /> 6 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 7 <br /> Section 1: There is hereby established an "Everett Civic Arts <br /> 8 Commission" composed of seven members. <br /> 9 <br /> Section 2 : The terms of the members of the Everett Civic Arts <br /> 10 Commission shall be pursuant to Section 5. 2 of the Charter of <br /> 11 City of Everett. <br /> 12 Section 3 : The functions of the Everett Civic Arts Commission <br /> 13 shall include but not be limited to the following functions : <br /> 14 <br /> (a) To represent the City' s interest in art matters and to <br /> 15 be a spokesman group for art matters in the City <br /> and to keep the Mayor and the City Council informed on <br /> 16 art matters. <br /> 17 (b) To be a central body to whom art organizations, artists <br /> and anyone interested in cultural advancement of the <br /> 18 community can come for information or assistance. <br /> 19 (c) To encourage and aid programs for the cultural enrich- <br /> ment of Everett' s citizens. <br /> 20 <br /> (d) To coordinate and strengthen existing organizations in <br /> 21 the field of art and to develop cooperation with the <br /> schools and regional and national art organizations. <br /> 22 <br /> (e) To explore ways and methods of obtaining private, local, <br /> 23 state and federal funds to promote art projects in the <br /> City. <br /> 24 <br /> (f) To review and make recommendations on all works of art <br /> 25 acquired by the City. <br /> 26 (g) To render any other advice and assistance in the field <br /> of art, esthetics and beautifications deemed necessary <br /> 27 by the Commission. <br /> 28 (h) To render any other assistance to the City in any other <br /> artistic activities as may be referred to it by the City. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 <br /> 31 <br /> 32 <br />
