i a ' 1 ORDIANANCE NO. 2 - ' 3 AN ORDINANCE establishing an "Everett Civic 4 Arts Commission" and declaring an emergency 5 to exist. 6 THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 7 Section 1: There is hereby established an "Everett Civic Arts 8 Commission" composed of seven members. 9 Section 2 : The terms of the members of the Everett Civic Arts 10 Commission shall be pursuant to Section 5. 2 of the Charter of 11 City of Everett. 12 Section 3 : The functions of the Everett Civic Arts Commission 13 shall include but not be limited to the following functions : 14 (a) To represent the City' s interest in art matters and to 15 be a spokesman group for art matters in the City and to keep the Mayor and the City Council informed on 16 art matters. 17 (b) To be a central body to whom art organizations, artists and anyone interested in cultural advancement of the 18 community can come for information or assistance. 19 (c) To encourage and aid programs for the cultural enrich- ment of Everett' s citizens. 20 (d) To coordinate and strengthen existing organizations in 21 the field of art and to develop cooperation with the schools and regional and national art organizations. 22 (e) To explore ways and methods of obtaining private, local, 23 state and federal funds to promote art projects in the City. 24 (f) To review and make recommendations on all works of art 25 acquired by the City. 26 (g) To render any other advice and assistance in the field of art, esthetics and beautifications deemed necessary 27 by the Commission. 28 (h) To render any other assistance to the City in any other artistic activities as may be referred to it by the City. 29 30 31 32
