• <br /> • <br /> 1 When an equipment unit is purchased for a single purpose or seasonal <br /> 2 need, the department requiring the equipment unit shall pay the account B <br /> 3 <br /> charges monthly,y, whether the equipment is used by that department or <br /> 4 <br /> not, unless some other department or agency uses the equipment. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 <br /> The following definitions shall apply to this ordinance: <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Maintenance cost shall mean salaries and wages, materials and other <br /> 9 costs necessary to maintain equipment, but not including overhead. <br /> 10 Vehicle type shall mean an equipment unit, vehicle or vehicles with <br /> 11 commonallity of weight, chassis, wheel base, design and use. <br /> 12 Overhead shall mean the cost of necessary facilities, maintenance <br /> 13 <br /> equipment, interest costs and administration. <br /> 14 <br /> Months of vehicle life shall mean the anticipated number of months a <br /> 15 <br /> unit of equipment can be expected to provide useful service. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Inflation shall be calculated at the rate of .005 per month. <br /> 18 Original cost shall mean the actual cost of a new unit of equipment <br /> 19 as determined by actual purchase or by market analysis. <br /> 20 Section 4: There shall be such books, accounts and records as are necessary <br /> 21 to control and report the financial operations of the Equipment Rental Fund. <br /> P P <br /> 22 <br /> The financial reporting system shall divide the accounts thereof into two <br /> 23 <br /> separately designated accounts as follows: <br /> 24 <br /> 25 (a) Account "A," which shall be the "Current Operating Account" into <br /> 26 which shall be placed those portions of the charges made to the depart- <br /> 27 ments of the City of Everett, in accodrance with the provisions of <br /> 28 Section 3 herein, which are specifically billed said departments to <br /> 29 provide sufficient moneys to pay the salaries and wages, materials, <br /> 30 <br /> overhead or other costs necessary to operate and maintain all motor <br /> 31 <br /> vehicle equipment rented thereto.
