• • 1 When an equipment unit is purchased for a single purpose or seasonal 2 need, the department requiring the equipment unit shall pay the account B 3 charges monthly,y, whether the equipment is used by that department or 4 not, unless some other department or agency uses the equipment. 5 6 The following definitions shall apply to this ordinance: 7 8 Maintenance cost shall mean salaries and wages, materials and other 9 costs necessary to maintain equipment, but not including overhead. 10 Vehicle type shall mean an equipment unit, vehicle or vehicles with 11 commonallity of weight, chassis, wheel base, design and use. 12 Overhead shall mean the cost of necessary facilities, maintenance 13 equipment, interest costs and administration. 14 Months of vehicle life shall mean the anticipated number of months a 15 unit of equipment can be expected to provide useful service. 16 17 Inflation shall be calculated at the rate of .005 per month. 18 Original cost shall mean the actual cost of a new unit of equipment 19 as determined by actual purchase or by market analysis. 20 Section 4: There shall be such books, accounts and records as are necessary 21 to control and report the financial operations of the Equipment Rental Fund. P P 22 The financial reporting system shall divide the accounts thereof into two 23 separately designated accounts as follows: 24 25 (a) Account "A," which shall be the "Current Operating Account" into 26 which shall be placed those portions of the charges made to the depart- 27 ments of the City of Everett, in accodrance with the provisions of 28 Section 3 herein, which are specifically billed said departments to 29 provide sufficient moneys to pay the salaries and wages, materials, 30 overhead or other costs necessary to operate and maintain all motor 31 vehicle equipment rented thereto.
