gency medical service as provided in Section 9B of this <br /> Ordinance . A certificate of license shall be carried on <br /> the person of each ambulance attendant/emergency medical <br /> technician and conditional ambulance attendant/emergency <br /> medical technician while on duty. <br /> B. Ambulance Attendant/Emergency Medical Technician - <br /> Certificate of license - no person shall perform the <br /> duties of an Ambulance Attendant/Emergency Medical Techni- <br /> cian without first obtaining an Emergency Medical Techni- <br /> cian's Certificate. No such Ambulance Attendant/Emergency <br /> Medical Technician license shall be issued to any appli- <br /> cant who has not previously held such an FMT Certificate, <br /> or whose Emergency Medical Technician Certificate has <br /> been expired for more than one year, unless : <br /> 1. The applicant has successfully completed an <br /> advanced first aid training and/or other paramedical <br /> course approved by the License Officer or holds a certifi- <br /> cate approved by the License Officer. First aid training <br /> for Ambulance Attendant shall be at least equivalent to <br /> the course outline: Basic Training Program for Emergency <br /> Medical Technician - Ambulance, recommended by the United <br /> States Department of Transportation. Equivalency shall <br /> be determined by the Advisory Committee. <br /> 2 . The applicant has a valid Washington State <br /> Driver' s license issued by the Department of Motor Vehi- <br /> cles ; provided that the License Officer may consider the <br /> driving record as verified by the Department of Motor <br /> Vehicles in determining whether a license shall be issued <br /> or refused by an Ambulance Attendant. <br /> 3 . The applicant is eighteen years of age or older. <br /> C. Conditional License - Conditions - It is recognized <br /> that conditions of training availability may prevent <br /> compliance with standards as specified above. Until 2 <br /> years after effected date, Conditional licenses may be <br /> issued. Two years after the effected date of this Ordi- <br /> nance , an applicant may not apply under Section 9C (1) and <br /> (2) . <br /> 1 . Conditional License, Operator <br /> a. When, because of temporary unavailability <br /> of certified emergency medical technicians, an applicant <br /> for a license will be unable immediately to comply with <br /> provisions of this Ordinance relating to qualifications <br /> of Ambulance Attendant, a Conditional Operator' s License <br /> may be issued for a period not to exceed eight months , <br /> conditioned on the following. <br /> b. Diligent efforts shall be made by such ap- <br /> plicant to fully comply with the provisions of this Ordi- <br /> nance, including requiring personnel employed by the ap- <br /> plicant who do not have the training and educational quali- <br /> fications set forth in Section 9B (1) , to take the first <br /> available training and instructional program thereafter <br /> offered in Snohomish County which meets the requirements <br /> of Section 9B (1) , and thereafter complying with all re- <br /> quirements of Section 9B (1) as quickly as may be prac- <br /> ticable under all the circumstances. <br /> 2 . Conditional License - Ambulance Attendant Emer- <br /> gency Medical Technician <br /> When, because of current unavailability within <br /> Snohomish County of a training and instructional program <br /> meeting the requirements set forth in Section 9B (1) , an <br /> applicant for an ambulance attendant emergency medical <br />
