.. // - 7,4 ORDINANCE NO. y 9 3- 74f AN ORDINANCE amending sections of both City ordinance and sections of the Everett City 1 Code (E .0 .0 .) whereby the criminal penalty provisions uniformly establish fines of not more than Five 2 Hundred ($500.00) Dollars or imprisonment not to exceed six (6) months or by both such fine and 3 imprisonment. 4 WHEREAS, during the process of reviewing and revising the 5 Everett City Code (E.C .C.) it has been found that due to state statutory 6 amendments the penalty provisions in the various City of Everett 7 ordinances and City code chapters are not uniform and are below the 8 maximum authorized by state statutes; 9 10 WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the City of Everett to 11 establish uniform penalty provisions in accordance with the maximum penalties 12 specified by state statutes; 13 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 14 Section 1: In the sections of the City of Everett ordinances 15 and of the Everett City Code, (E.C .0 .) specified in Section 2 of this ordinance, 16 the penalties shall be amended as follows: 17 "Any person violating any of the provisions or failing 18 to comply with any of the mandatory requirements of 19 this ordinance [chapter] shall upon conviction of such violation or failure be punished by a fine of not more than 20 $500.00 or by imprisonment not to exceed six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment." 21 Section 2: The amendment in Section 1 shall be applicable to the 22 following City ordinance sections or sections of the City code: 23 24 Section 8 of Ordinance No. 4267 (E .C.C.
