r -h '• . ti • . i • L ' .I r Section 15 : Ambulance Contract The City Council recognizes that this ordinance places additional responsibilities on the ambulance company operating within the City to comply with all the re- quirements of this ordinance. The License Officer, or his designee, shall annually negotiate an agreement with the ambulance company to reimburse the ambulance company for the following expenses: A. The transportation of all persons, where transpor- tation was specially requested by an employee or offi- cer of the City of Everett, and where the bill is un- collectable. B. The additional costs incurred by the ambulance company which are specifically related to the Alert System and for which the ambulance company is not otherwise reimbursed. C. When, under the provisions of Section 14, an Everett Emergency Aid Car transports a person or per- sons, the licensed ambulance company serving the same geographical area shall be reimbursed by the City of Everett as if the licensed ambulance company had trans- ported the person or persons . Section 16 : Training All training of persons, in the City of Everett, for emer- gency medical care, except as provided in accredited medi- cal programs , shall be reviewed by the Emergency Services Advisory Committee. Certification of instructors for emergency medical care shall be done in the manner and method as determined by the License Officer after review- ing the recommendations of the Emergency Services Advisory Committee. All persons who intend to teach, instruct, or otherwise train persons in emergency medical care and who are work- ing for the City of Everett shall be certified by the Emergency Services Advisory Committee as instructor be- fore doing any teaching, instructing or training in emer- gency medical care to other employees of the City or to any citizens of the community. Section 17: Penalties A. Any person willfully violating or failing to comply with any provision of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to the penalties imposed by the laws of the State of Washington for Commission of Misdemeanors . In any event, the fine may not exceed $500 or imprison- ment in the County jail for a term exceeding 90 days or both such fine and imprisonment. B. Each day that any violation of, or failure to com- ply with, this Ordinance is committed or permitted to continue, shall constitute a separate and distinct of- fense under this section and shall be punishable as such hereunder; provided, however, that the Court may, in appropriate cases , stay the cumulation of penalties . -12-
