ENGINEERING
PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT
March 30, 2018
Sara McFaddin
sara@aesmech.com
AES Mechanical
2171 AL Hwy
Tallahassee, AL 36078
RE: Owner: AzetrQrsieafi. 1 enan ina3 Solt:H*045
Job Address: 13110 19th Ave SE
Plan Check Number: M1803-049
Dear Ms. McFaddin,
In response to your application for a construction permit, your plans have been examined and you
are advised that revisions may be necessary before a permit can be issued. Please review and
respond to the comments below. These comments address building issues only. Additional
revisions or additions may be required by other departments (such as Public Works, Planning, or
Fire). All references refer to the 2015 International Building Code (IBC), as amended by the State
of Washington and adopted by the City of Everett. The current IBC referenced standard for
accessible design is the 2009 "Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities" (ICC/ANSI A117.1).
Federal ADA regulations and standards may be more restrictive. All required submittals must be of
sufficient detail and information to ensure that the proposed structure will be constructed in
compliance with all adopted codes.
In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to
provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of construction documents
reflecting the corrections requested. All revisions require the person delivering the
drawings to replace the revisions into the two sets here at our offices. For significant
revisions, or if the revisions are coming directly from a document printing facility,
please make arrangements with them to print and deliver two replacement sets.
Structural
1. Please provide structural calculations indicating the demand-capacity ratio and stiffness
comparisons between existing and proposed modified member conditions. Please provide
calculations showing how proposed modifications to members are increasing the capacity of
the members and by how much. Please note that existing members for new units are to
be both evaluated and strengthening, if required, be designed per the requirements
indicated in Section 807 of the 2015 IEBC.
2. Please provide calculations addressing the anchorage and existing supporting joists
associated with the new RTU installations for lateral forces such as wind pressures or
seismic forces, whichever governs the design connections and supporting members. Refer
to Chapter 13 or Chapter 30 of ASCE 7-10 for loading and connection requirements
Page1of2
CITY OF EVERETT• 3200 Cedar Street • Everett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8810 • Fax(425)257-885
