• <br /> 1 by said improvement in at least the amount charged against the same and the <br /> 2 assessment appearing against the same is in proportion to the several assess- <br /> 3 ments appearing upon said roll. There is hereby levied and assessed <br /> 4 against each lot, tract, parcel of land and other property appearing upon <br /> 5 said roll the amount finally charged against the same thereon. <br /> 6 Section 3: <br /> 7 The assessment roll as herein approved and confirmed shall be <br /> 8 filed with the Treasurer of the City of Everett for collection and said City <br /> 9 Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to publish notice as required by <br /> 10 law stating that said roll is in his hands for collection and payment of any <br /> 11 assessment thereon or any portion of said assessment can be made at any <br /> 12 time within thirty days from the date of the first publication of said notice <br /> 13 without penalty, interest or cost, and that thereafter the sum remaining <br /> 14 unpaid may be paid in equal annual ins tallments with interest thereon hereby <br /> 15 fixed at the rate of eight and one-half (82) percent. The first installment <br /> 16 of assessments on said assessment roll shall become due and payable during <br /> 17 the thirty-day period succeeding the date one year after the date of first <br /> 18 publication by the City Treasurer of notice that the assessment roll is in his <br /> 19 hands for collection and annually thereafter each succeeding installment <br /> 20 shall become due and payable in like manner. If the •whole or any portion <br /> 21 of the assessments remains unpaid after the thirty-day period, interest <br /> 22 upon the whole unpaid sum shall be charged at the rate of 8 2 c(eight and <br /> 23 one-half percent) per annum and each year thereafter one of said installment., <br /> 24 together with interest due on the •whole of the unpaid balance, shall be <br /> 25 collected. Any installment not paid prior to the expiration of the said <br /> 26 thirty-day period during which such installment is due and payable shall <br /> • 27 thereupon become delinquent. All delinquent installments shall be subject <br /> 28 to a penalty charge of 5% per annum on the delinquent principal. The <br /> 29 collection of such delinquent installments will be enforced in the manner pro <br /> • <br /> 30 vided by law. <br /> 31 Section 4: <br /> 32 r This ordinance shall become effective upon becoming valid. <br />
