Plan Section 3
3.4 Overpass from Grand Avenue Park to Waterfront
A pedestrian overpass from the north Everett neighborhoods directly to the marina area has
long been part of Everett's shoreline access vision. The bridge is currently under
construction and scheduled for completion in 2019. The ped/bike overpass will cross from
the Grand Av!nue Park bluff. near 16th Street. over Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad
right-of-way, and State Route 529(W. Marine View Dr.)with a landing point on Port of
Everett property as shown in the artist's rendering below. Funding for the bridge project is a
great example of optimal leveraging of funding opportunities because it will replace
deteriorated underground storm drainage and sewer pipes on landslide prone slopes.
Placing the new pipelines on a utility bridge will make them more accessible for inspection
and maintenance. This project also implements the City's continued upgrades to separate
storm water and sewer pipelines to achieve higher water quality in Port Gardner Bay.
. ► -, .
