The lump sum Contract price for each of the Bid Items listed above, shall be full pay for
<br /> the construction of the complete electrical system, modifying existing systems, or both,
<br /> as shown in the Plans, and herein specified, including excavation, backfilling, concrete
<br /> foundations, conduit, wiring, restoring facilities destroyed or damaged during
<br /> construction, salvaging existing materials, and for making all required tests. These lump
<br /> sum contract prices shall further include full pay for furnishing all pipe, pipe connections,
<br /> elbows, bends, caps, reducers, conduits, unions, junction boxes, pull boxes, cable
<br /> boxes, and fittings; for placing the pipe in accordance with the above provisions,
<br /> including all excavation, jacking, boring or drilling required, backfilling of any voids
<br /> around casing, conduits, pits, or trenches, restoration of native vegetation disturbed by
<br /> the operation, chipping of pavement, and bedding of the pipe; and all other Work
<br /> necessary for the installation of the conduit as an integral part of the above system bid
<br /> items.
<br /> All additional materials and labor, not shown in the Plans or called for herein and which
<br /> are required to complete the electrical system, including all inspections and testing, shall
<br /> be included in the lump sum Contract price. All costs for installing conduit containing
<br /> both signal and illumination wiring shall be included in the Contract prices for the signal
<br /> system. All costs for installing junction boxes containing both illumination and signal
<br /> wiring shall be included in the Contract prices for the signal system. The lump sum
<br /> Contract price for each traffic signal system shall include full pay for connection to power
<br /> source shared by traffic signal and illumination systems. All costs associated with the
<br /> removal of a temporary traffic signal system, temporary illumination system, temporary
<br /> traffic and illumination system or a temporary video detection system shall be included in
<br /> the lump sum contract price for the associated bid item.
<br /> The unit contract price per lump sum bid item that includes a "Temporary Signal and
<br /> Illumination System, Complete" shall be full compensation for all labor, tools, materials,
<br /> and equipment required to submit, provide, install, operate, reposition, maintain, and
<br /> remove each system as specified.
<br /> "Remove and Relocate Existing Luminaire", per each.
<br /> "Remove and Relocate Existing Pedestrian Scale or Private Parking Lot Light", per each.
<br /> The unit contract price per each for "Remove and Relocate Existing Luminaire" and
<br /> "Remove and Relocate Existing Pedestrian Scale or Private Parking Lot Light" shall be
<br /> full for the removal and relocation of lighting as shown in the Plans, and herein specified,
<br /> including excavation, disposal, backfilling, concrete foundations, potholing, conduit,
<br /> wiring, junction boxes, protection and relocation of existing equipment, connections, and
<br /> for making all required tests/permits.
<br /> All work shall be coordinated in a manner that does not disrupt the public safety and
<br /> traffic flow through the project. Uniformed police officers will be required to maintain
<br /> traffic control during any required shutdowns for system cutovers. Existing systems shall
<br /> be in operation at all times until the temporary systems have been tested and approved
<br /> for normal operation. Approved temporary systems, as detailed herein, shall be in
<br /> operation at all times between the shutdown of the existing systems and turn-on of the
<br /> permanent systems. The Contractor shall adjust signal head locations as directed by the
<br /> Engineer to accommodate changes in lane configuration and traffic flow during
