MATERIALS <br /> A. Hangers, Supports, Anchors, and Fasteners- General: Corrosion-resistant materials of <br /> size and type adequate to carry the loads of equipment and conduit, including weight of <br /> wire in conduit. <br /> B. Supports: Fabricated of structural steel or formed steel members; galvanized. <br /> C. Anchors and Fasteners: <br /> 1. Do not use powder-actuated anchors, spring clips, or beam clamps. <br /> 2. Concrete Structural Elements: Use precast inserts, expansion anchors, powder- <br /> actuated anchors, or preset inserts. <br /> 3. Steel Structural Elements: Use beam clamps, steel spring clips, steel ramset <br /> fasteners, or welded fasteners. <br /> 4. Concrete Surfaces: Use self-drilling anchors or expansion anchors. <br /> 5. Wood Elements: Use wood screws. <br /> CONDUIT <br /> CONDUIT REQUIREMENTS <br /> A. Conduit Size: Comply with NFPA 70. <br /> 1. Minimum Size: 1/2 inch (13 mm) unless otherwise specified. <br /> 2. Minimum Size from panelboard to outlet or equipment: 3/4 inch unless otherwise <br /> specified. <br /> B. Underground Installations <br /> 1. In or Under Slab on Grade: Use rigid steel conduit, intermediate metal conduit, <br /> plastic coated conduit, or thickwall non-metallic conduit <br /> 2. Minimum Size: 3/4 inch (19 mm). <br /> C. Locations Underground: Use non-metallic conduit, rigid steel conduit or intermediate <br /> metal conduit. <br /> D. Wet and Damp Locations: Use liquid tight flexible conduit, rigid steel conduit, rigid <br /> aluminum conduit, or intermediate metal conduit. <br /> E. Dry Locations: <br /> 1. Concealed: Use flexible metal conduit, rigid steel conduit, rigid aluminum conduit, <br /> intermediate metal conduit, or electrical metallic tubing. <br /> 2. Exposed: Use flexible metal conduit, rigid steel conduit, rigid aluminum conduit, <br /> intermediate metal conduit, electrical metallic tubing, or thickwall nonmetallic <br /> conduit. <br /> F. Flexible metal conduit shall be the type approved for continuous grounding. No flexible <br /> conduit allowed for any concealed installation or in wall, or over 6' in length. <br /> METAL CONDUIT <br /> A. Rigid Steel Conduit: ANSI C80.1. <br /> B. Rigid Aluminum Conduit: ANSI C80.5. <br /> C. Intermediate Metal Conduit (IMC): Rigid steel. <br /> D.
