These <br /> comments address building issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be required by other <br /> departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the (2015 International <br /> Building Code,) (2015 International Residential Code,) as amended by the State of Washington <br /> and/or Washington State Energy Code 2015 Edition, and adopted by the City of Everett, unless <br /> stated otherwise. <br /> In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to <br /> provide the Building Division with two new complete sets of drawings reflecting the <br /> corrections requested. <br /> 1. The architectural plans state"See structural Drawings"and the structural drawings state <br /> "See Architectural Drawings". Please coordinate the drawings sets to clearly define the <br /> scope of work and show how it meets the requirements of the International Residential <br /> Code <br /> 2. Provide stair section showing minimum tread depth and maximum riser height, handrail <br /> size and placement. Handrail ends shall be returned or shall terminate in newel posts or <br /> safety terminals. Show requirement on plans. <br /> 3. Provide Guard details showing how intermediate balusters are attached to the structure. <br /> 4. Intermediate balusters shall be spaced such that a sphere 4 inches in diameter cannot pass <br /> through any opening. <br /> 5. Open risers shall not allow the passage of a 4 inch sphere. <br /> 6. Provide minimum 36 inch landing, measured in the direction of travel, at least as wide as <br /> the stairs, at the bottom of the staircase. Show on plans. <br /> 7. The plans call for stringers at 24" o.c., the stairs are 48 inches wide but there are only two <br /> supports for the stringers at the base of the stairs.
