Job No.: 7172
Response to: STRUCUTRAL REVIEW COMMENTS
Comment# 1:
It appears that new wall openings are being added to the existing building as well as
new roof framing with a portion of this framing attaching to the existing structure. A
new slab-on-grade is being added for the majority of the building. By inspection, the
proposed work appears to comprise more than 50% of the building area. Per IEBC Sec
907.4.1,please provide an engineering analysis and evaluation report for seismic forces
acting on the altered structure.
Response: Calculation added. See attached printout for review.
Comment#2:
From the submitted permit calculations, it appears that the existing beams labeled G1
through G4, used a snow loading of 20 psf uniform snow load for evaluation. The
design snow loading is 25 psf uniform non-reducible. Please revise the calculation as
required and provide details for possible strengthening, if required, for gravity framing
members affected by placement of new mechanical units per IEBC Sec 907.3.
Response: Calculation updated. See attached printout for review.
Best regards,
Mo Kateeb, P.E.
Floor&Decor/Everett
